The organising firm Progres Partners Advertising, s.r.o. (www.ppa.cz) wishes all foreign exhibitors and visitors to the international fair Collector in Prague a merry Christmas and a successful New Year in 2004.

Exhibition of single-frame exhibits

After the successful premiere of the national competition of single-frame exhibits at this year's trade fair, the Union of Czech Philatelists has decided to repeat the competition in the year 2004, but this time with international participation. Qualified exhibits from the Czech Republic, Austria and Germany will be exhibited at Collector. Each country has the possibility of exhibiting six exhibits, the point value of which will be added together, and this shall also be in the years to come. The jury will consist of Mr.Walter Müller, Mr.Pavel Pittermann and Mr.Vít Vaníček. Dr.Rohde & Kornatz in Prague for the first time

The well-known German philatelic firm of Dr.Rohde & Kornatz from Kassel will have its premiere in 2004 at the Collector fair. For the very first time, visitors in Prague will have the opportunity of choosing from the wide offer of this firm. It specialises primarily in old Germany, the Saar, occupied German territory, bisone, the Berlin Federal Post Office, GDR, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Collectors of themes will also be in their element.

Chinese philately once again at Collector

The China National Philatelic Corporation, which represents the post office of the People's Republic of China, did not tarry with the submission of the application for the trade fair in 2004. The Chinese have exhibited at Collector twice, and their postage stamps have always been amongst those in greatest demand.

Other traditional exhibitors

Many traditional Czech exhibitors are already preparing for the trade fair in 2004. As a random sample we might mention the firms Alkado, Filatelie Pěnkava, Filatelie Hobby Praha, Slovfila, Filatelie Karlin, Aurea Numismatika, Česká mincovna, Filatelie FOS, Filatelie Ježek, Numis - Numismatický salon and others.

How to be successful at the trade fair

Despite the fact that the vast majority of exhibitors at the trade fair are satisfied (which is evidenced by the annual increase in exhibiting organisations, firms and collectors), we would like to advise you on how to improve your sales results yet further. It is not enough to simply send the application form to the organisers and then wait at the trade fair to see who comes to your stand.
We recommend that long before the trade fair takes place, you inform your business partners that you will be exhibiting at Collector Prague. You obviously send offers by post or e-mail to your customers on an ongoing basis. Why not add the information that you will exhibit from the days 10th to 12th September 2004 at the fair Collector in Prague? Invite your customers to the trade fair and prepare for them a special trade fair offer. Your customers will certainly be pleased if they get a personal invitation from you. The trade fair is not taking place only in the area of buying and selling, but it is also a meeting point for partners and friends. But it is primarily a place where - if you are prepared for it - you can make new contacts which will be of benefit to you in the years to come. Despite the fact that the organiser pays great attention to the promotion of the event, as is evidenced by the eleven thousand visitors in 2003 (see final report), each exhibitor should develop his own initiative.
For example, today you can order free of charge A2 format posters from the organiser issued for the trade fair in 2004 in Czech, English and German. And in the spring foreign-language prospectuses will also be available for visitors.

Collector given as an example

For its New Year greeting the two-monthly magazine Českomoravské veletrhy used a photograph from the trade fair Collector (albeit an old one) on its title page. In the text the editorial board wishes all exhibitors and trade fair administrators the kind of atmosphere for the new year 2004 that is to be found at the fair Collector.

Czech television about the trade fair

At this year's trade fair Collector, Czech Television shot a one-hour documentary about collecting which will be broadcast on ČT 1 next January. Every Monday afternoon the nationwide radio station Praha covers collecting and occasionally Collector.
