We would like to wish you much success in your personal and professional life in 2006. Upon this occasion, we would like to thank all those who have exhibited at or visited our international trade fair Collector for their participation. Over the eight years of its existence, the trade fair has firmly established itself amongst collecting events in Europe, and it has also received international recognition.

Trade fair Collector in 2006

The ninth annual event of the international trade fair Collector will take place in Prague on the dates 15th – 17th September, once again in the same palace on the Exhibition Grounds as in previous years. This year 219 exhibitors from 39 countries participated in the trade fair, and it was visited by almost 12 thousand people. We hope that next year exhibitors and visitors will be satisfied at the trade fair once again, and that once again there will be a pleasant, active atmosphere, as there has been in the past. Numismaticians break record

Every year, the Czech Numismatic Society provides a free consultation and appraisal service at the trade fair. There are always many interested visitors at their stand, but this year the numismaticians broke all records. On average, one visitor asked them for advice or an appraisal of collecting material which he had brought every six minutes. In total, the CNS satisfied 225 interested visitors, of whom 138 were interested in coins, 49 in paper currency, and 20 in awards and decorations. Eighteen questions concerned the activity of the association or numismatics in general.

Philatelists reinforced relations

Union of Czech Philatelists reinforced their relations with foreign countries The UCP provided the same service at the trade fair as the Czech Numismatic Society. Many interested visitors also came to its stand for advice or had their stamps or entire collections valued by court-appointed appraisers. Moreover, at the trade fair the association conducted many discussions, not only with philatelists clubs in the Czech Republic, but also with members from the executive of philatelic associations from Turkey and the Netherlands amongst others.

Media reaction to trade fair

The international trade fair Collector enjoyed a great reaction in the expert press in the Czech Republic and abroad as well as in Czech dailies and society magazines. Czech radio and television stations also gave information about the trade fair. There was also a great reaction to Collector on foreign collecting Internet servers. The organiser of the trade fair – the firm Progres Partners Advertising – is also an advertising and PR agency, and so it creates all the marketing and communication activities associated with the trade fair in house. For example, three days before Collector it organised a press conference associated with the announcement of the five most expensive Czechoslovak coins.
