The collectors' community is conservative in a way and doesn't like changes. Even the organisers of the Fair Collector (Sberatel) would prefer to continue running their exhibition at the Exhibition Grounds in Prague - Holesovice for the next hundred years. However, it only takes a few seconds for things to change, as we can see from last October. As a result of the devastating fire the Collector Fair is after eleven years moving to a different and possibly better exhibition grounds in Prague at the PVA Letnany.
As early as the end of November of last year, the Progres Partners Advertising (organizer of the fair Collector) were forced to move their largest Aqua-therm exhibition to the new grounds. The result? Happy exhibitors, the same number of visitors as at the previous venue, excellent metro links, direct access to the exhibition grounds from the D8 motorway from Teplice and A17 from Dresden, 4,500 parking places at reasonable prices and several large restaurants to enjoy refreshments and take a break.
Therefore, this year's 12th annual Collector Fair will undergo some changes. Not only the venue, but also the date will be different. The fair will be held from 3rd to 5th September 2009, i.e. from Thursday to Saturday. By having Sunday off the organisers are giving the exhibitors a chance to recover from the hard work at the fair or to allow them to do some sightseeing in Prague. Moreover, this arrangement will most probably attract more eager-to-buy visitors than previously on Sundays. The opening hours for the public remain the same as in previous years: from 10 am to 6 pm on the first two days, and from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday.
Naturally, the Fair organiser will ensure that the advertisements emphasise the change of venue. They will also arrange an information service near the former exhibition grounds and by metro stations too.
More good news: This year, fees for exhibition stands and tables will be lower than last year.
