Check out the bar on the left to find all the necessary information on how to conveniently reach the exhibition facility at which the Collector Trade Fair will be held from September 3 - 5. Here is a bit of basic information: The address of the PVA Letňany Exhibition Center is Beranových 667, 199 00 Prague 9 - Letňany, and the GPS coordinates are 50°7'46.54"N,14°30'51.48"E.
The trade fair will be open to the general public on Thursday, September 3, and Friday, September 4, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday, September 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A one-day ticket sells for CZK 80, while the three-day pass costs CZK 200. There is no advance booking of tickets. Minors up to 18 years of age and women have free entry to the fair. Parking for visitors inside the facility is CZK 100 for a full day.
At the event, visitors will receive a free catalogue with a detailed map and information on the exhibitors. The Collector Trade Fair takes place under the auspices of the Czech Minister of Education, Youth, and Sports, Miroslava Kopicová, and with the professional credentials of the Czech Numismatic Society, the Union of Czech Philatelists, and the Czech Post.
At the trade fair, visitors may ask for free appraisals of their collector items or collections - postage stamps, coins, bills, medals, phone cards, minerals, gemstones, and others.
The Collector Trade Fair takes place only one month before the extraordinary parliamentary elections in the Czech Republic. This has inspired the hosts to promote their event among potential visitors in a non-traditional form, making a "special contribution" to the pre-election campaigns: billboards in the Czech capital city, Prague, are now calling upon people to "Vote for the Collector". On the southern ring road (Jižní spojka), which is part of the Prague Beltway, illuminated megaboards also spread the message: "Vote for the Collector". The same compelling slogan and theme has appeared in subway wagons and trams in Prague and on six thousand banners all across the country, and leaflets can be found in collector shops. And we, too, urge you to Vote for the Collector, and visit the trade fair on September 3 - 5!

Like last year, you will be able to pay in any world currency at this year's trade fair. At Stand No. 520 in the Numismatics section, they'll accept existing legal tender from all over the world, as well as some currencies that no longer exist! This means that you can pay for your purchases in more than 200 different currencies (some of them pretty exotic), as well as in all outmoded European currencies that were previously replaced by the euro, based on a current list of exchange rates. In most cases, valid coinage from all over the world will also be accepted.
On the first day of the trade fair, the Czech Post will offer new souvenir sheets for sale with an issue date of September 2: a souvenir sheet called "The Bohemian Central Mountains - A Tertiary Volcanic Landscape", with one stamp, with a nominal value of CZK 43, engraved by Martin Srb based upon a design by Adolf Absolon, and a special miniature sheet "Nature Conservation - The Křivoklátsko UNESCO Biosphere Reserve", with four stamps and four blank fields, with a nominal value of CZK 53.The artistic design for this sheet, which has been printed in an edition of 80,000 pieces, was provided by the couple Libuše and Jaromír Knotek, and again engraved by Martin Srb. The Romanian Post, which will exhibit and sell in Prague for the first time, has commissioned an interesting cover specially designed for this trade fair. Slovak Post has prepared a nice post card and cancellation stamp.

The Club of Curiosities Collectors, who have never failed to show up at the Collector Trade Fair, have again prepared a showcase of goodies for our visitors from among the collections of their members. Emil Příhoda, for instance, regularly exhibits Praga cars. This year, he'll arrive at the Collector Trade Fair in an ambulance - of course again a Praga model. This ambulance was built on the frame of the 1939 Praga "Lady" and sports a four-cylinder, 1,660 cc engine, and has a top speed of 100 km/h. This was the first ambulance that met the requirement of accommodating a two-meter stretcher for reclining patients. The car was produced for the entire Czechoslovak Republic, where it was basically the only type of ambulance. In the healthcare sector and the army, it was in use up until 1960.
At the exhibition of the Club, you will also find displays of razor blade packs, tokens from Las Vegas, historical postcards and pig figurines from all over the world. Returning again due to their great popularity at last year's trade fair are movie posters. On Friday, September 4, starting at 2 p.m., an autograph signing by eminent figures of public life will take place. Writer Ludvík Vaculík, poet Jan Vodňanský, and songwriter Jiří Dědeček have already promised to attend, but the hosts of the trade fair are in talks with a number of other illustrious personalities.
The Mayor of the City of Prague Mr. Pavel Bém has granted the International Fair Collector, which is held from Thursday September 3rd till Saturday September 5th 2009, by his auspices.
