Web registration for Fair
Even though it is still six months to go before the start of the International Fair Collector, it is possible to register early by filling in the PDF application form available in the left hand side bar "Information for Exhibitors" and send it to us either by e-mail, fax or postal mail; we shall be certainly very pleased if you choose to do so. Otherwise, we will be posting printed registration forms in the middle of March.
The registration forms are also available at various fairs and exhibitions, where we provide information with regard to the Fair held in Prague - you could have met us this year at the Word Money Fair in Berlin, or at Stampex and Philatex Fairs held in London, or perhaps at the Geosvět Fair held in Prague.
Soon we will be attending the Briefmarkenmesse and Numismata held in Munich, exhibitions Milanofil in Milan and Antwerpia in Antwerp, or the Collecta Fair in Ljubljana.
We have issued a poster on our Collector Fair theme and you are welcome to ask for its copy at jirasek.jindrich@ppa.cz. Click on the "Download" bar above to see the poster image on your screen.
First exhibitors to register
The first exhibitors started registering few days after we published the registration forms on the internet. Among these are registrations received from the German and Belorussian Post Offices, Philately Podskalský, Leuchtturm Company and philatelist Trevor Pateman from Great Britain, or the numismatist Prager from Austria and, for the first time, the American Numismatic Company PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service).
The presence at this year's Fair, which takes place between 2. - 4. September has been confirmed, in the philatelists' field, by Česká pošta (The Czech Post Office), Union of the Czech Philatelists, Alkado - Jiří Doležal, Biener GmbH Briefmarkenversand from Germany or the Bulgarian Bulphila. In the numismatics field, we can look forward to seeing The Czech Mint, Kremnica Mint, Austrian Mint, Chinese Mints united in China Gold Coin Incorporation, the Zlaté Mince (Golden Coins) Company, dealers Mojmír Černý or in Germany residing Egyptian Ismail Ala Eldin.
The decision to exhibit at the Prague Fair Collector has been announced, among others, by Kniffka Company (philately), Schaubek Verlag or Lindner Falzlos (accessories for philatelists and numismatists) on their respective websites.
We are going to publish a supplement on the Fair Collector event in cooperation with E 15, a prestigious daily newspaper on economics
The supplement titled "Investment in coins, medals and gold" should be out in the week prior to the Fair and its aim is to increase people's interest in investment in the collectors commodities. See the enclosed attachments in Czech and English or visit the webpage www.sberatel.info for more details.
Pleasing evaluation of last year's Fair
The Austrian numismatic company Schoeller Münzhandel published the last year's Fair Collector attendance evaluation. Schoeller Münzhandel takes part in the Fair every year since 2000 and it always includes in its large exposition at least eight worldwide mints.
Translation of the article published in Schoeller News No. 4/2009:
Collector in Prague and the Expo in Warsaw
Both major numismatic trade fairs in Eastern Europe were again successful. Since its inception, the Fair Collector is held in Prague each autumn. On this occasion, it was held from 3. to 5. September. As we announced in our last magazine (3 / 2009), the Fair organisers had to seek new Fair location, since the Fair Hall in the centre of the city was destroyed by fire. However, no damage resulted by having to transfer the Fair to the exhibition grounds of PVA Letňany, as over 11 500 visitors attended this year's Fair. The new Exhibition Centre is situated on the outskirts of the city, but thanks to good infrastructure, it can be reached by metro within a few minutes. This year's Fair was - to the delight of numerous visitors - extensive, interesting and versatile. Even though the modern trade fair hall atmosphere cannot be compared with the old, historical premises in the city centre, where the Fair had been held in past, the responses of visitors and exhibitors were generally extremely positive.
