Attention! Participation at Collector is now cheaper by 20% for all foreign exhibitors from EU countries.

From 1 Jan. 2011, new rules took effect in the EU for the taxing of services provided at exhibitions and trade fairs. In practice, this means that all exhibitors from EU countries that are VAT payers will pay that tax in their home countries, and not in the Czech Republic as has been the case until now. Participation at the Collector trade fair will therefore be cheaper for exhibitors from the EU by the amount of the 20% Czech VAT. To put it in the language of an economist: these rules are applied based on the recipient of the service. Reverse charge is applied (reversal to the service recipient) if the recipient is a VAT payer within the EU and also has its place of business or headquarters there. If the recipient of a service is a foreign subject outside of the European Union or a party exempt from the tax, the taxation of that service shall continue to be governed by the place where the trade fair or exhibition takes place.

More than half of the exhibition space has already been reserved.

As we have already announced in earlier e-mails, already at last year's trade fair, nearly a third of the exhibitors reserved their places for 2011. We are very pleased that now, even before the official distribution of application forms, we have half of our exhibition space already reserved. Among those having already sent in applications are the firms Emporium Hamburg, Deutsche Post, Kniffka, Aix-phila, Biener, Spinneli, 1+10 Filatelie, Filatelie Podskalský, Euro Gems, GAP Goll-Müller, Monique Salmon and George Shalev. After the cutoff date for the bulletin, applications were also received from the North Korea postal service and the French philately dealer Marigny, which will be presenting itself at Collector for the very first time!

We are distributing applications for 2011

During March we will distribute applications for this year's event. If you do not receive it, you can download it in English, Czech or German here. We would also draw your attention to the possibility of placing an advertisement in the trade fair catalogue. 30,00 copies of the A5 color brochure will be printed, and it will be available to visitors to the trade fair free of charge. Additionally, fourteen days before the trade fair, 10,000 copies will be distributed to the addresses of targeted collectors, stores selling collector materials and the media.

Prague and the Collector trade fair - an ideal opportunity for business and a lovely excursion

According to the international reservation server hotel.info , Prague is the fifth-best destination in the world, where visitors can find much enjoyment at an affordable price. Participating in the survey were hotel guests who ordered accommodations at one of 210,000 hotels through that reservation server. So you can combine your participation at the Collector trade fair with an excursion to the city called the Golden Heart of Europe! And don't forget that exhibitors and visitors can find accommodations near the exhibition centre at much lower prices than are available at the reception desk, if they reserve a room on the trade fair website.
