28.06.2011 | This year's Collector trade fair will be accompanied by the Investor trade fair | Attention! The Philatelic and Numismatic Office of the Vatican City State in Prague for the first time! | A record number of new exhibitors from abroad | The Czech Assay Office will verify the authenticity of gold for trade fair visitors | Collector will be held under the patronage of the Minister of Education and the Mayor of Prague.
This year the Collector trade fair will expand to include a new event - the Investor trade fair with the subtitle "a trade fair for investing in gold, coins, philately and precious stones. The organizers of Collector are well aware that not all of the people attending the trade fair are coming to add to their collections. Many of them want above all to make a safe investment, and it is for them that the name Investor is intended to signal that the world of stamps, coins and minerals is not just a collector's passion, but also a stable investment. The two trade fairs will take place at the same time, in the same exhibition hall and for one admission charge. Included under the name Investor will be mints and dealers in the fields of numismatics, philately and minerals that have their own stands or exhibits. The colors of the trim of the stands and in the catalogues will be differentiated. From the attendance of a new group of wealthy customers, of whom we are expecting there to be several hundred, all of the exhibitors will naturally benefit. The trade fair also has its own web site at www.investor-fair.com.
The guest of honor at this year's first annual INVESTOR trade fair will be the Philatelic and Numismatic Office of the Vatican City State. In the context of Central and Eastern Europe, this is a truly big event, because Vatican City will be presenting itself in this manner in our region for the very first time. We therefore expect large attendance from Slovakia, Poland and Russia, where the collecting of postage stamps and numismatic material with church-related themes is very popular.
At this year's annual Collector trade fair, you will find nearly all of the exhibitors from past years, but there will also be a large number of firms presenting themselves in the Czech Republic for the very first time. Planning a visit to Prague are the philately dealers Christian Arbeiter, Bernd Schlösser and Marigny and the postal administration of North Korea, and from the field of numismatics the dealers S&R Edelmetalle from Germany, Panda America Corporation from the USA and Zlataky.cz and E-mince.cz from the Czech Republic. Presenting a large, separate exhibit at Collector will be one of Germany's most prestigious auction houses, Felzmann. None of the traditional big exhibitors will be absent - at the trade fair you will find the postal administrations from the Czech Republic, German and Slovakia and such big philatelic dealers as Kniffka, Biener, Striegel, Aix - phila, Hanmart, Trevor Pateman, Paolo Gazzera, Wim Van der Bijl and Vincennes. Representing the area of numismatics will be the mints of the Czech Republic Slovakia and Austria, the China Gold Corporation, some of Germany's biggest gold dealers including Emporium Hamburg and Künker, the Dutch firm NumisCollect and Rauch from Vienna.
The Czech Assay Office will be the official expert at the new INVESTOR trade fair. What does that mean? Visitors to the Investor and Collector trade fairs will be able have the authenticity and fineness verified not only of the numismatic material that they bring, but also, for example, of jewelry or gold castings. The Collector trade fair also has a new partner for the appraising of securities and banknotes: experts from the Securities Museum. These two institutions will be supplementing the consulting services of the Union of Czech Philatelists, the Czech Numismatic Society, the firm GEM Mařík (minerals and precious stones), the Telephone Card Collectors' Club and the Club of Collectors of Curiosities.
We are very pleased that again this year, the Collector trade fair will be held under the official patronage of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic and of the Mayor of the City of Prague. We are pleased that regardless of the momentary political situation, the Ministry of Education regards as important the popularizing of collecting among children and young people, and that the City of Prague sees the event, which brings several thousand visitors to Prague each year from abroad, as a significant part of support for tourism. Thank you!
